On April 2, Northeast Elementary School’s STRIVE staff in Amityville were recognized during World Autism Awareness Day for their tireless work and dedication of supporting the district’s youngest learners.

World Autism Awareness Day kicks off a monthlong effort for schools and organizations to focus on sharing stories and providing opportunities to increase understanding and acceptance of people with autism and fostering worldwide support. At Northeast, Principal Dr. Pauline Collins hosted a special luncheon in her office for all of the STRIVE staff members.

The district would like to thank Northeast’s STRIVE staff for continuing to go above and beyond for our students.
