Second graders at Northwest Elementary School in Amityville recently took part in the PSEG Safety Sleuth Program, in which they learned important lessons about staying safe around electricity.
Through engaging activities with Northwest librarian Ms. Heavey, students discovered what to do in case of an emergency and how to recognize potential electrical hazards. After mastering these safety rules, the students teamed up in pairs to create colorful and informative posters, each highlighting one key safety rule they learned. Their posters will be entered into the PSEG Safety Sleuth Poster Contest, allowing them to showcase their knowledge while promoting electrical safety in a creative way.
The district wishes Northwest’s second graders the best of luck in the poster contest.
