The Amityville School District is proud to announce that Amityville Memorial High School senior Lizette Acosta’s artwork will represent Amityville in the regional Long Island's Best Young Artists exhibition at The Heckscher Museum.

Now in its 29th year, the Long Island’s Best program challenges students in grades 9-12 to choose a work of art that is on display in the museum as inspiration for their own creative expression. Approximately 78 pieces of student-created artwork out of 455 entries from Long Island high school students were selected for inclusion in this year’s show.

This year, the Long Island’s Best exhibit will be available to view in-person at the Heckscher Museum from Sunday, April 6 through Sunday, May 25. The exhibit will also be available for online viewing beginning on April 5 by visiting the Heckscher Museum of Art website at https://www.heckscher.org.

The district commends Lizette, her grade 12 art teacher Jayne Grasso, and her present/past art teachers for this outstanding achievement!
