On Oct. 17, students and teachers at Northeast Elementary School in Amityville celebrated Hispanic Character Month. 

Community and staff gathered to celebrate all the Hispanic countries that encompass the Amityville school community. The school’s gymnasium was decorated with posters recognizing different countries. Guests enjoyed music from their staff, DJ, and performances from Northeast’s students, as well as cultural dances from Panama. Additionally, parents shared a variety of food from their native countries.
