As the warmer weather approaches, Northwest Elementary School in Amityville has aimed to remind students about the importance of water safety.  

On June 3, Stewie the Duck and his friend, Sarah Caro, from the Stew Leonard III Water Safety Foundation, shared safety tips around water with Northwest’s students. Students also received copies of the book, “Stewie the Duck Learns to Swim,” by Kim and Stew Leonard Jr. The books were purchased by the APTC.
